DAY 1: Begin your cruise in vibrant New York City.
DAY 2: Travel up the Hudson River, admiring beautiful scenery along the way. In Troy witness the unique feat of lowering the pilot house of your vessel as we prepare to travel under low bridges. This engineering design was the brainchild of Blount Small Ship Adventures' founder Captain Luther Blount and is still a trademark of our small ship experience today. An optional walking tour in Troy is also available (southbound only). Later, enjoy a display of local culture at an onboard musical performance.
DAY 3: This morning begin your transit of the Erie Canal, one of the nation's first and most important engineering marvels, and once called the "eighth wonder of the world." You may even meet some of the lock tenders who man this distinctive waterway. Overnight in Little Falls, whose name originates from the Iroquois who once inhabited the region.
DAY 4: Today you may choose to visit Cooperstown, NY and meet the ship later in the day at Sylvan Beach. Located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, Cooperstown is home to the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Farmers Museum and the Fenimore Art Museum. Watch America's history come alive in this picturesque town that combines big-city excitement with small town charm. Tonight in Sylvan Beach, on the shores of shimmering Oneida Lake, a local performer will entertain with the history and period music of the Erie Canal.
DAY 5: Your port of call today is Oswego, NY, on the shores of magnificent Lake Ontario. You may choose to take a shuttle on a panoramic loop around this charming area to view some of the highlights such as the H. Lee White Marine Museum, the Richardson-Bates House Museum or Fort Ontario.
DAY 6: Delight in the treasures of the St. Lawrence Seaway as you head toward Ogdensburg, NY. You may opt to visit the Frederic Remington Art Museum, showcasing an impressive collection of original works by the acclaimed American painter. Discover Ontario as the scenic beauty of the Thousand Islands welcomes you to Canada. Tonight in Kingston, an optional haunted walking tour showcases the city's darker history and folklore.
DAY 7: Visit historic Kingston, nestled where the Rideau Canal and St. Lawrence River meet Lake Ontario. Built on a grand heritage, Kingston is framed by its 19th century limestone architecture and the impressive Fort Henry.
DAY 8: Today, you have the option of discovering Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls. A full day excursion into this scenic region includes a tour of an award-winning winery replete with tastings, a luncheon and a tour of Niagara Falls. Should you choose not to explore the Niagara region, you will continue on to Hamilton onboard the ship, at the west end of Lake Ontario.
DAY 9: Welcome to Toronto, the largest city in Canada! Here you'll find a cultural treasure trove with more than 100 ethnicities creating a diverse city with a unique flair.
DAY 10: Disembark today in Toronto.
